Details: The Insomniacs Ball 2008, the fifth instalment of the largest and most infamous indie indoor extravaganza is back delivering once again a kaleidoscope of diversity, colour, music, fun and talent wrapped and delivered in true festival fashion under the vaulted arches of London Bridge on May 31st
New additions worthy of very special note include: A FREE drink with every one you buy at the bar before 11pm! (unheard of in a venue of this size). A separate fast track entrance for queue jump ticket holders (available from ticketweb). It will be the cheapest festival ticket in the country – fact- all for under a tenner!
The line up for this critically-acclaimed event is set to be the most exiting and diverse yet with live performances from indie starlet Joe Lean and his merry band of men, the Jing Jang Jong - whose single ‘Where Do You Go’ is released just days before on the 26th May 08 and whose hotly anticipated debut album hits the shelves at the end of summer. NME darlings The Ghost Frequency are set to storm the main stage, as are south London hipsters the Haunts and recent editions The Dead Kids.
London's premier disco eclecticists and club promoters Adventures Close to Home have cherry-picked a selection of their current favourite DJs for the club room, including dapper dresser and French DJ/Club banger DJ Orgasmic (TTC / Institubes), ghetto-ravers Radioclit, remixing supremo Riton (Hercules and the Love Affair, Kylie Minogue, Mystery Jets, Mylo etc) and Parisian electro-hottie Misty Rabbit, not to mention the capricious and divergent talents of the resident ACTH DJs themselves.
If that wasn’t enough Insomniacs can delight in their very own bespoke Indie Cabaret hosted by uber cool promoters Be, best known for their wall to wall parties at Proud Galleries every Saturday. Expect avant-garde walking burlesque, fire breathing and performance artists swinging from the eaves in a giant birdcage – in short an indoor festival like no other. DJ revelry comes from the hugely respected Kitsune crew Punks Jump Up, Lovely Jonjo and David H. Leave your inhibitions at the door and let your mind unravel.
With 5 arenas of sublime musical talent, late night shenanigans and devilry hosted by top UK label and party kings Adventures Close to Home (Club Room), Be @ (Indie Cabaret), The Insomniacs Stage (Live Room), Clash Magazine (VIP) and Lizard Lounge (Chill Out) all for the ridiculous price of £9.50 The Insomniacs Ball should be tattooed on the forehead as THE ONLY NIGHT to be seen at on 31/05/08.
