Details: Sheffield's Urban Gorilla are celebrating the second May bank holiday in style with their biggest ever event, and the biggest night to hit the steel city in years. Not content with securing a long overdue return to the city from the legendary Sasha, they've added some of the hottest acts in club land to the line-up to create a truly monstrous event, which sprawls through two huge rooms and a car park(!).
This Northern clubbing institution, which recently celebrated its 6th birthday, has played host to many of the biggest names in dance music over the years, but with this event takes things to a whole other level. Taking over every inch of The Plug venue, the main room is headlined by Sasha, making what may be his first Sheffield appearance this century (the last recorded appearance we can find was on NYE 1999). He's joined by German house maestros Âme, making their very first Sheffield appearance, and the UG residents will be joining the musical dots.
UG's regular home, the Neutral room, sees a takeover from UG's booty-rave sister night BUG, who've stepped up to the plate with their biggest ever line-up, headlined by Switch, the producer behind some of the biggest dance floor smashers of recent times, under his name, a variety of aliases, and on behalf of artists like MIA and Santogold. Joining him is the hot kid on the scene Boy 8-Bit, raved to and about by Diplo, Trouble and Bass, and many, many more, plus Sheffield electro head and Club Pony star Run Hide Survive and UG stalwart Geoff Ticehurst.
And just when you thought that nothing more could possibly squeezed in, UG have taken control of the car park for an early evening BBQ session headlined by none other than breaks superstar Krafty Kuts, who'll be kicking things off from 6pm with some early evening summertime vibes.
