Details: Hed Kandi’s numerous parties across the globe provide the label with a unique international funky house barometer, giving them an unequalled view on all the tracks that are really making their mark in the world’s clubs. Utilising this priceless knowledge, the Kandi crew have compiled the latest chapter in the Disco Kandi story, assembling the biggest floor-fillers of recent times that have been extensively road tested, world-wide to ensure maximum party action.
This time Disco Kandi’s stunning cover art comes courtesy of Reilly who takes up the reigns from New York’s Vault 49 and Paris’ ArnO for Hed Kandi’s continuing evolution at the forefront of club culture and design. An award-winning graduate of the Royal Academy of Art and acknowledged as one of the art-world’s most scintillating illustrators, Reilly has made a name for himself as an edgy and accomplished artist. Hed Kandi are relishing the prospect of working with a host of new design talent and are especially excited to be collaborating with a luminary of Reilly’s standing.
Following hot on the heels of Hed Kandi’s most successful album ever, ‘The Mix Summer 2006’, (which charted at #2 in its first week of release). And the landmark ‘Back To Love’ set, which saw the label launch its enticing new look, Disco Kandi’s return injects a large dose of infectious booty shaking funk to proceedings.
Soul Central get to work on one of this years biggest club killers, Fedde Le Grand’s ubiquitous ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’, creating a piano driven smasher that reveals Disco Kandi’s fun filled intentions from the off. Martin Mayhem’s mix of Restless and Volatile’s uplifting House gem ‘Searching’ and Haji and Emanuel’s re-fix of Degrees Of Motion’s Garage classic ‘Do You Want It Right Now’ transport you effortlessly into Hed Kandi’s stylishly stunning world with their all consuming peak time appeal. Opening with Soul Avengerz take on Rhythm Republic Vs Marshall Jefferson’s ‘Move Your Body,’ the second disk cranks the party vibes up to eleven with M Factor delivering a previously unheard vocal mix of Chanel’s irresistible ‘My Life’. Barbara Tucker gives another faultless vocal performance on Don Oliver’s ‘Better’ before Alexandra Prince’s sublime contribution to Fireflies’ ‘Can’t Get Enough’ and the timeless perfection of Groove Armada’s ‘Superstylin’ guarantee that the latest Disco Kandi will have you cutting a rug to its lasting charm.
