Om Records has built an enviable following in the Middle Eastern hotspot with showcases & events in the city and now with plans to launch an. Om: Dubai residency – we felt it was time to shine the spotlight on this blossoming culture by inviting an Om artist who has toured through the Emirate along with that territory’s premiere DJ….fully representing the sound of the Dubai dancefloor!
Andy Caldwell: For over the past 10 years, Andy Caldwell has shared his love of music with fans around the world, performing as a DJ/musician in every major city on every continent. Originally signed to Om with his band Soulstice, Andy released his solo album ‘Universal Truth’ in 2006 with lead single ‘Warrior’ becoming an anthem from the start. Collaborating with DJ/producers such as co–writing/producing Kaskade´s #1 Billboard hit single "Everything", Caldwell´s signature production style is also recognized in the film and television producing for shows including Six Feet Under.
Charl Chaka: It would be an understatement to say Charl Chaka wears the proverbial crown in Dubai, when it comes to the deep/funk/jackin' side of house. He has been credited as the 1st DJ to play the infamous San Francisco house sound in Dubai, and is renowned for championing the style in the desert heat. Opening sets for legends such as DJ Sneak, Marshall Jefferson, Mark Farina and Derrick Carter, to name but a few, and using his versatile style to open for ?uestlove and Jamiroquai, if ever there is a deep house jock of their stature in Dubai, Chaka’s the man called upon for the job. Could there be a more perfect DJ to represent Om in Dubai?
