Having already established himself as one of Europe’s leading dance producers, Darren Tate is certainly no stranger to making dance-floor anthems, with already a dozen top 40 records under his belt. He has blazed the clubbing world under such guises as Jurgen Vries and Angelic, even taking the ‘Voice of An Angel’, Charlotte Church, under his wing to sing on ‘The Opera Song’. Darren Tate’s latest brainchild is set to further strengthen his grip on dance-floors worldwide, with DT8 Project’s first album redefining dance music in the 21st century - a true hybrid of electronic music styles, embodying the best songs with stirring emotional music.
‘Perfect World’ combines modern electronica and live acoustics with stunning performances from world-renowned artists, such as Gavin Rossdale (Bush/Mr Gwen Stefani), Mory ‘Yeke Yeke’ Kante and Andrea Britton. It not only includes massive hits of the past, ‘Winter’, ‘Destination’ and the latest club smash ‘Hold Me Till The End’ (“The tune of the year, if not the decade” Judge Jules), but also this summer’s biggest crossover anthems. ‘The Power Of One’ is a marriage of old-skool house, blissful ambience and gorgeous vocals from dance-floor diva Shena McSwee (“JX” / “David Gray”), whilst ‘Falling’, a truly unique ambient-electro-house journey, sees a certain Gavin Rossdale joining forces with resident singer Alexta. Gavin commented, “Sacha Putnam first approached me with a copy of one of the singles [Perfect World] from the album – it was from that second I knew I wanted to be involved with Darren’s project”.
The list of talent recruited for this album is seemingly endless, with co-writes by some of the biggest names in the business, including Victoria Horn (‘Dirty Vegas – Days Go By’) and Erire Obano (William Orbit / Sasha and Digweed). Then throw into the mix the second club-mixed bonus CD, where you will find remixes by many of the biggest names in dance music, including Above & Beyond, Max Graham, Mike Koglin and Lange.
When thinking how to create ‘Perfect World’, it may have taken Darren Tate longer than seven days, but the wait was worth it! With the combination of great song-writing, stunning vocals, world-class production and remixes that ooze euphoria, DT8 Project have succeeded in creating the perfect world, where sheer aural ecstasy is administered at the touch of a play button!
