Details: Seamless Recordings present the follow up to the genre defying Rock The Disco compilation with this eagerly anticipated 2nd volume. Featuring a whole heap of big name acts and future classics, these are the records rocking the dirty discos across the globe. From future thinking deep house and classic Mancunian electronica to rock for ravers! With a roll call of top names across the spectrum including The Chemical Brothers, New Order, Calvin Harris, Blondie and LCD Soundsystem, this is a must have album for any self respecting dance fan!

Disco really is order of the day for CD 1 of this compilation. Opening this up for us is the huge ‘He Not In’ from Chicken Lips, a true modern day classic, pushing the boundaries of the deeper darker side of late night Disco. Underground electro champions Lindstrom and Art of Tones provide the perfect digital warm up for the ‘man of the moment’ – Calvin Harris. Taken from his ‘I Created Disco’ album, ‘Top 10’ UK chart smash ‘Acceptable In The 80’s’ sets the tone perfectly for undoubtedly the 80’s most disco / rock crossover group – Blondie. ‘Heart Of Glass’ perfectly mixes the influences of downtown Manhattan’s legendary CBGB’s punk club and midtown discothèques like the Paradise Gargage and Studio 54 – this 2007 rework by Edison brings Blondie right back to the cutting edge of popular dance music. Brining CD 1 to a close is a record released an on Derrick Carter and Luke Solomons’ aptly titled Classic Records – ‘Beau Mot Plage’ by Isolee. This is a staple record for any deep house DJ over the past few years and the perfect way to end this journey through modern day deep dark disco.

CD2 couldn’t start with any other act really, the true originators of electronic music in the UK – New Order, fusing their post punk Joy Division roots with the influences of Kraftwerk and Arthur Baker to create one of the most influential records of all time. Keeping the New York theme running and after his appearance on Rock The Disco 1, Armand Van Helden drops one of this years BIGGEST hits ‘NYC Beat’ before the mix batten is handed to three of the hottest producers on the scene at the moment, Sebastien Leger, Chris Lake and Deadmau5. Modeselektor calls in the unique talents of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke for one of the most haunting of vocal takes to be put to record this year. The Chemical Brothers sprinkle a little bit of festival magic into the mix with their 1ST release in 3 years ‘Do It Again’. Hugely popular acts Justice and Switch are on hand to deliver en vogue remixes of ZTT (aka Tiga and Zombie Nation) and Simian Mobile Disco, before a true Rock / Disco classic unfolds in the shape of Soulwax’s audio assault on LCD Soundsystem and their homage to everyone’s favourite Parisian duo with ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House’. But it is left to Frankie Valli - one of the biggest acts of the 60’s and into the 70’s Disco period to close Rock The Disco 2 with this contender for ‘record of the year’ – the Pilookski remix of ‘Beggin’.
