Details: With Fedde Le Grand’s Sessions album still doing the business, it’s time for Mark Knight to take the baton and show the World exactly how the UK does things…

Mark is one of a handful of DJs/Producers/Label bosses that have been leading the way in Dance music over the past two years, with his musically inspiring Toolroom imprint playing a big part in shaping the current sound in clubland. Like many of his contemporaries, Mark has been perfecting his DJing and producing for a long time but it wasn’t till 2003 when he secured a residency at Ministry of Sound when he really got the chance to prove his worth alongside the biggest names in the World. In 2004 with a soaring profile and a growing fan base, Mark launched Toolroom Record – initially as an output for his own production. The label embodied the shift in dance music to its underground roots and the ‘Toolroom sound’ really stood out, releasing quality, cutting edge tracks at a time when the scene was lacking originality. This was noted when it received a nomination for ‘Best Breakthrough Label’ in 2004 at the inaugural House Music Awards and a further nomination for ‘Label Of The Year’ in 2005.

Regarded as one of the hardest working DJs in the industry (42 countries in 12 months and a staggering 20 gigs in 1 month!), Mark’s technical ability is second to none, and his DJ style is totally reflective of his attitude to production; rather than finding one style and sticking to it Mark likes to keep his sets as varied as possible, playing right across the board, from deep to tech-house and everything in-between – his Sessions mix underlines this statement even further. With new tracks from Toolroom and others from such luminaries as Peace Division, D Ramirez, Dave Spoon, Sandy Rivera, Nic Fanciulli and the mighty GusGus this album hits the target. A welcome addition to the series.
