Details: This is Yousef's first highly anticipated release since the widely supported slick, techy and big room "Spooky" and Detroit-in-Ibiza sounding "The Approach" on Cr2. It heralds a return to his own Carioca Records (Yousef's first release on Carioca since the acclaimed "Friends" album 18 months ago where he left his bumping house days behind) and marks a move with the digital revolution and Carioca's first ever digital-only release.
Guit Guit / Re Guit is a further musical boundary push for Yousef, taking in elements from acid house, techno, electronica and most notably live guitar (which has been incorporated into this tough dance floor beast giving it an underworld style vibe). It’s a bit of a cracker and already causing a stir.
The original mix is an epic workout, leading you in one direction whilst pushing you in another with a blissful breakdown before the nasty beat hits you right between the eyes.
The edited version gets more to the point, chopping and changing quickly, removing the bliss for a punchier edge.
The ReGuit version is a complete rework. Incorporating tough techno beats and much dirtier vibe, once again the bliss is buried making way for harsh big room moments to captivate dance floors.
All 3 tracks show Yousef's broad musical vibe, all are very detailed and multi layered, again testament to the Liverpool lad’s musical evolution.
Carioca 016 looks set to be the much followed label’s most talked about release yet – and there’s more to come from Yousef in the summer.
