Details: December 8th marks the release of the single ‘Everything Is Alright’ by Swedish producer, musician and DJ Rasmus Faber. An ambitious, masterful blend of deep, musical house with a heart of pop, ‘Everything Is Alright’ will put Rasmus on the map as a crossover act on a par with the likes of Roisin Murphy and Basement Jaxx.
Take the colours of Robyn, 4 Hero and Nu Yorican Soul, mix them up and you get a picture of ‘Everything Is Alright’. An uplifting, cinematic dawn of pianos and strings gives way to the sugary, innocent vocals of Linda Sundblad, which roll out to the end - half a song structure, half a house 12”.
In the ambient tradition of ‘Smokebelch 2’ and ‘Offshore’ remixes, Rasmus provides the ‘Chillax mix’, taking the track to new heights of airy brightness. Lovebirds, (who already have fans in Prins Thomas, Ashley Beedle, Tom Middleton and Bill Brewster) deliver vocal and instrumental remixes, perfectly pitched between cosmic disco and shiny new house. Up and coming talent and Soulfuric signee Richard Earnshaw provides more house flavours whilst Rasmus also provides a clean, infectious and building ‘Instrumental Remix’ and the big room- style, energy packed ‘Rasmus Faber Remix.’
Producer, musician, composer, remixer & DJ Rasmus Faber has many strings to his bow. In his early years he mastered the skills of the jazz piano, and worked as a musician for many years, before falling in love with house music in 2001 His debut release the inspirational ‘Never Felt So Fly’ captured many peoples hearts when released on UK label Black Vinyl in 2002.
After two original releases on US label Sub-Urban and remixes for E-Smoove and Kenny Bobien, people started to show this young Swede some serious attention. Rasmus was hunted down by Defected chief Simon Dunmore to remix Dubtribe Sound System.
Simon was so pleased with the work Rasmus delivered that he quickly snapped him up offering a management & label deal and thus Farplane Records was born. Soon after, Rasmus reworked Junior Jack’s monster hit ‘E-Samba’. Recording new vocals & completely reinventing the original, Rasmus´ remix went on to be played throughout the summer by the likes of Morillo, Sanchez and Morales.
Released in 2003, ‘Ever After’ was Farplane Records' debut release, and went on to become a major hit and timeless classic. After a faultless line of equally successful releases (such as 'Divided/United' and the Axwell remixed ‘Get Over Here’), his name was fully established as a major player
Rasmus regularly roams the world, doing live shows and DJing in his unique style (playing the piano over his sets). Global success is topped in Japan where his music has peaked both the albums and single charts
New musical adventures are in sight, exploring other non dance genres, as well as going deeper into the more big room sounds of house, releasing harder and more electronic tracks and remixes under the RaFa moniker.
Rasmus remains highly active in the studio, working with labels including Defected, King St, Code Red, Seasons, Shifted Music, Soulfuric and Knee Deep, while Farplane Records continues to grow as an outlet for quality house. Last month Rasmus’ most recent single, ‘Are You Ready’ feat. Emily McEwan (with Kaskade remixes) met high acclaim.
Lined up for the fabuolus Rasmus remix touch are Jerome Isma-Ae, Tiger Stripes, Spiritchaser and Stimming. Completing remixes for such artists as Miguel Migs, Axwell, Sandy Rivera and Reel People only cements the fact that this talented Swede, still only in his late 20s, is in high demand, and at the peak of his game. |
