Details: This superb two-tracker from Whoop! debutant Russell G marks his arrival on the scene in some serious style. The driving prog of Led Astray is dominated by a throbbing bass and animated percussion, while a classic swelling stab leads the way throughout, and a sprinkling of a meandering second synth finishes it off to add a little more bounce to the main hook. With the almost Latin-American feel to the rhythm combined with the tough beats and synths this one is a proper dancefloor devastator!
‘Lose It’ is a far dirtier affair, with all sorts of interplay between a whole host of synth lines; the most prominent being the offbeat synth stabs jumping over the thick sub. Distorted, growling support lines create a seriously hectic, but powerful, driven groove. Held together by a tight, punchy kick, a snappy snare, and relentless hats, this is most certainly gagging to be dropped at a quality dirty prog house session!
